RRX Aerospace Enhanced Project Management/Cost Control
RRX Aerospace is conducting preliminary research into next
generation aerospace project management and cost control systems.
Effective, highly focused project management combined
with rigorous cost control and accounting are, it seems fundamental
to any successful aerospace accomplishment completed on time within budget.
Some preliminary considerations for a minimal basic vertical
launch system project:
- vertical launch gantry -> preferably located in dry,
moderate, low wind context
- steel includes corrosion treated checker plate, HSS,
channel, plus I-Beam with basic architectural layout, cut and weld
- gantry mounted on tracks with fine position control
- module lift crane or frame for lifting launch vehicles or subunits
into place with fine control capability
- stabilizer swing arm or frame for each launch vehicle subunit,
adjustable position and radius for model variation
- modular scaffolding with safety system for detail work
- plumbing with underground storage tanks and cooling systems for liquid
oxidizer, liquid green fuel, liquid nitrogen
- rapid fire suppression system with non toxic flood
mode
- wide area reinforced concrete base with exhaust exit
channels (hardened with steel and epoxy resin)
- adjustable metal and hardened concrete mounting ring for base of bottom
launch vehicle subunit
- docking bays for contractor supply vehicles
- high current electrical supply with heat resistant
casing
- launch gantry cameras, lights, safety & weather
sensors & security monitors
- optical fibre network connections for gantry subsystems
and launch vehicle preparation
- personnel and light subunit lift with safety cage
- underground personnel preparation rooms, emergency
surgery facility, washroom facilities
- underground storage facilities for miscellaneous items
and support vehicles
- launch preparation and monitor bunker
- gantry systems server array
- safety monitor server array
- navigation server array
- science instrument feedthrough server array
- launch vehicle final test server array
- communications server array
- visualization systems
- mass storage system with archiving for all launch activities
- see through sound proof divider(s)
- media cubicles with internet connection
- media rest area, washroom facilities
- staff rest area, washroom facilities
- underground storage facilities for miscellaneous items
and support vehicles
- hardened assembly hangar (preferably reasonably close to
launch gantry)
- final assembly and test area for contractor subassemblies
- floor space for batch assembly & test plus maneuver
room for crews
- receiving docks for delivery of heavy components
- dual overhead xyz tracking gantry robot with fine control
(access to receiving dock area)
- automated assembly server array
- module test systems
- inventory and subassembly tracking and accounting servers
- test fixtures and equipment storage area
- media tour walkway with safety cage
- staff rest area, washroom facilities
- storage facilities for miscellaneous items and support
vehicles
